Superb sound quality. Beautiful design. Comfort in the extreme. All this and more describes the new AKG® high definition headphones.
The K 142 HD, K 242 HD, K 172 HD and K 272 HD models reflect the brand’s 60 years of experience in creating quality headphones, and are yet another example of why the AKG name is renowned for its cutting-edge technology and groundbreaking industrial design. Each model features the trademark AKG ring-design logo and the trendy product colors mocha, sand and chrome.
The K 142 HD is an on-ear, semi-open, dynamic headphone that provides powerful, crystal-clear sound, thanks to its patented AKG Varimotion diaphragm technology, which enables the diaphragm perimeter to vibrate elastically, but its center to use a piston-like motion. This motion prevents any undesirable partial vibration, ensuring exceptionally clean sound reproduction, and greater spatiality and transparency, even at high frequencies. In addition, the diaphragm in the beaded area, i.e., the motion zone, is thinner and more vibration-susceptible, which guarantees powerful and dynamic bass. The “oxygen-free” cable (99.99% OFC) also supports optimum transmission. The frequency range of the K 142 HD lies at 18Hz–24,000Hz, its maximum rated load at 200mW, and its rated impedance at 55 ohms. Other advantages: The K 142 HD comes with a self-adjusting headband, and its ear pads are made of soft velvet. The sand-and-mocha- colored K 142 HD with chrome styling has been specifically designed for trendsetters-on-the-go.
The K 242 HD is based on the AKG K 240 studio headphones, which have picked up numerous awards. It has a semi-open, dynamic, around-ear design. It, too, is equipped with patented Varimotion diaphragm technology and an “oxygen-free” cable. Its comfortable, self-adjusting headband, soft ear pads made of velvet, and light weight make it extremely comfortable. The primarily sand-colored K 242 HD comes with a 3-meter-long standard cable, and has a frequency range of 15Hz–25,000Hz, a maximum rated load of 200mW, and a rated impedance of 55 ohms.
The K 172 HD is ideally suited for use in a DJ environment or in locations such as the underground or in a bus, where only the wearer should be able to hear what’s being listened to. The portability of these enclosed, dynamic, on-ear headphones is matched by their ruggedness and sound intensity. The K 172 HD is available in mocha and sand, and has ear pads made of velvet. It has a frequency range of 18Hz–26,000Hz, a maximum rated load of 200mW, and a rated impedance of 55 ohms.
The K 272 HD headphones’ around-ear, closed-back design provides maximum screening of ambient noise, making them extremely well suited for semi-professional DJs, and for enjoying music while out and about. Their stable design ensures lasting music enjoyment – even when they’re primarily used while on the move. They have a frequency range of 16Hz–28,000Hz, a maximum rated load of 200mW, and a rated impedance of 55 ohms. These mocha-colored headphones are available with easy-to-clean velvet ear pads and a 3-meter-long cable. The light weight of the K 272 HD headphones and their self-adjusting headband ensure that they’re exceedingly comfortable.
